SO CLOSE AND AT THE SAME TIME SO FAR!

The most difficult human being to evangelize is not an atheist, sectarian or postmodern agnostic. But a religious Christian, who week after week is taught the Word of God and yet remains unchanged by it. He is convinced and sure of his salvation, fully trusting in his own righteousness, but he will be thrown like straw into the fires of hell.

The church of Laodicea gave itself top marks: "[...] I am rich, and I am enriched, and I lack nothing; [...]". However, in the eyes of Christ, he receives a sad diagnosis: " [...] and you do not know that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked;" - Rev 3:17.

This sad reality reveals to us that there is a vast and difficult missionary field in the pews of our churches. Nominal Christians who have not undergone the new birth. People who were so close to the Gospel, but were not transformed by it. What a tragedy!
