God can change decisions because of your sincere prayer...

  2 Kings 20

1 At that time Hezekiah was sick unto death. The prophet Isaiah, son of Amoz, came to him and said to him, Thus says the Lord: Put your house in order, for you will die and not live.

2 Then the king turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying,

3 Remember now, O Lord, I pray you, how I have walked before you with faithfulness and integrity of heart, and have done what was right in your eyes. And Hezekiah wept exceedingly.

4 And it came to pass, when Isaiah had not yet come out of the middle of the court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying,

5 Go back, and say to Hezekiah, the prince of my people, Thus says the Lord God of your father David: I have heard your prayer, and I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you; on the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.

6 I will add to your days fifteen years; and I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for my own sake, and for the sake of my servant David.

7 Isaiah said more: Take a paste of figs and put it on the ulcer; and he will heal.

8 Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, What is the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that on the third day I will go up to the house of the LORD?

9 Isaiah answered, This shall be a sign unto thee from the Lord, that the Lord will fulfill his word which he hath spoken, Shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

10 Then Hezekiah said, It is easy for the shadow to go down ten degrees; do not be so, rather turn the shadow back ten degrees.

11 Then the prophet Isaiah cried out to the Lord, who turned the shadow back ten degrees, by the degrees that it had already declined on the sundial of Ahaz.

12 At that time Merodach-Baladan, son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a gift to Hezekiah, because he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

13 And Hezekiah gave audience to the messengers, and showed them all his storehouse, the silver and the gold, the spices and the best ointments, his armory, and all that was in his treasures; There was nothing that he did not show them, neither in his house nor in all his dominion.

14 Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah, and asked him, What did those men say, and where did they come to you? Hezekiah answered, They came from a very far country, from Babylon.

15 And he said, What did they see in your house? And Hezekiah said, They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing in my treasures that I would not show you.

16 Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD:

17 Behold, the days are coming, when all that is in my house, and that which your fathers have stored up to this day, shall be carried away to Babylon; nothing will remain, says the Lord.

18 And even some of your children, which shall proceed from thee, which thou shalt beget, they shall bear; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

19 Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said more: Well, is it not so, if in my days there will be peace and security?

20 Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool and the aqueduct, and how he brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.
