Jesus is the Light of the World. Light eliminates darkness, makes everything visible and allows us to see the way. Jesus illuminates our hearts, reveals sin and salvation to us, and shows us the way to God.
We too can be light to the world. We are children of God, so we live in the light and can show the light to others who are still in the darkness of sin. Whoever walks with God and does what he says walks in the Light of the World.
Light of the World in the Bible
Speaking again to the people, Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
