WHO IS YOUR FATHER?
The father is very important in the lives of his children. A good father educates and takes care of his children, providing protection and security and being a good example of life. Being a parent is a job of great responsibility.
The Bible says that God is our Father. He created us and gave us life. He protects and teaches us. He helps us to overcome difficulties. He rebukes us for our good. God is the perfect Father, who loves us.
Yet, Lord, you are our Father.
We are the clay; you are the potter.
We are all the work of your hands.
Isaiah 64:8
"Honor your father and your mother, that you may live long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
Exodus 20:12
Parents, do not irritate your children; but bring them up after the instruction and counsel of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4
Because a boy was born to us,
a son was given to us,
and the government is on your shoulders.
and he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Children are a heritage from the Lord,
a reward he gives. Like arrows in the warrior's hands
are the children born in youth. How happy is the man
who has his quiver full of them!
You will not be humiliated when you face
their enemies in court.
Psalms 127:3-5
The father of the righteous will be glad;
whoever has a wise son in him rejoices.
Proverbs 23:24
If anyone curses his father or mother,
his light of life will be extinguished
in the deepest darkness.
Proverbs 20:20
"What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will he give him a scorpion? If you, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father who is in heaven give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks!"
Luke 11:11-13
Father to Orphans and Defender of Widows
it is God in his holy habitation.
Psalms 68:5
My son,
do not despise the discipline of the Lord
nor be grieved at his rebuke, for the Lord disciplines whom he loves,
just like the father does to the son
of those who wish well.
Proverbs 3:11-12
However, you are our Father.
Abraham doesn't know us
and Israel ignores us;
You, Lord, are our Father
and since ancient times you have been called
our Redeemer.
Isaiah 63:16
Bear the difficulties, receiving them as discipline; God treats them like children. Now, what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined, and discipline is for all children, then you are not legitimate children, you are illegitimate. Also, we had human parents who disciplined us and we respected them. How much more must we submit to the Father of spirits, in order to live like this! Our parents disciplined us for a short time, as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may partake of his holiness.
Hebrews 12:7-10
As a father has compassion on his children,
so the lord
he has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows what we are formed of;
he remembers that we are dust.
Psalms 103:13-14
Therefore, be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Matthew 5:48
"All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
Matthew 11:27
"But you must not be called masters; one is your Master, and you are all brothers. Call no one on earth 'father,' because you have but one Father, who is in heaven.
Matthew 23:8-9
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Luke 6:36
For you have not received a spirit that enslaves you to fear again, but you have received the Spirit that makes you children by adoption, whereby we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are children of God.
Romans 8:15-16
Little children, I wrote to you
because they know the Father.
Parents, I wrote to you
because they know
one who is from the beginning.
Young people, I wrote to you,
because they are strong
and in you the Word of God abides,
and you defeated the Evil One.
1 John 2:14
See how great is the love that the Father has bestowed on us: to be called children of God, which in fact we are! That's why the world doesn't know us, because it didn't know him.
1 John 3:1
