THE WORD WASHES, CLEANS AND PURIFIES...

 

Purification is the act or effect of making something or someone pure or purified.

In the Bible we see numerous references regarding purification. Once sin entered the world, making human beings impure before the holiness of God, ways in which men should purify themselves were communicated.

Purification rituals were introduced in the Old Testament, through which people, symbolically and spiritually, became cleansed of their sins by obeying God's guidance. Purifying water or fire, cleaning the body, clothing and house were used to purify the unclean (Numbers 19:9 and cf Numbers 19:18-20).

The Law of Moses explained the situations in which people became ceremonially unclean (Leviticus 14:54-57), as well as all the procedures to cleanse and purify the people of God from their impurities - sometimes by fire, sometimes by water ( Numbers 31:23).

In addition to the spiritual meaning, this entire purification process was valid to ensure asepsis within the camp, preventing the spread of plagues and contagious diseases. There were also special times, with feasts and offerings of sacrifices that involved the times of purification of the Jews (John 11:55).

In the New Testament, we learn from the teachings of Christ that what makes man unclean is much deeper than simply cleaning procedures and external asepsis. We all have a serious problem of heart impurity. Jesus taught that what comes out of the mouth, proceeding from a corrupt heart, is what makes a person unclean (Matthew 15:18-20).

Only in Jesus Christ can man be purified from the corruption caused by sin (John 1:29). It is necessary to take into account the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:3) and His testimony, through water (baptism of repentance), blood (faith in the sacrifice on the cross) and the Holy Spirit and fire (Matthew 3:11 ) for our total purification.

Purification in the Bible

"A ceremonially clean man will collect the heifer's ashes and place them in a clean place outside the camp. They will be kept by the community of Israel for use in the water of purification, for the cleansing of sins.

Numbers 19:9

Then a ceremonially clean man will take hyssop, dip it in water and sprinkle it on the tent, on all the utensils and on all the people who were there. He will also sprinkle it on anyone who has touched a human bone, or a tomb, or anyone who has been killed or who has died a natural death. He who is clean shall sprinkle it on the unclean person on the third and seventh day, and on the seventh day he must purify him. The one being cleansed will wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and that evening he will be clean. But if he who is unclean does not purify himself, he shall be cut off from the assembly, for he has defiled the sanctuary of the Lord. The water of purification was not sprinkled on him, and he is unclean.

Numbers 19:18-20

This is the regulation concerning any kind of leprosy, scabies, mold on clothes or in a house, and swelling, rash, or shiny spot, to determine whether a thing is clean or unclean.

That's the regulation about any kind of leprosy and mold.

Leviticus 14:54-57

and whatever resists the fire, you will have to pass through the fire to purify it, but you will also have to purify it with the water of purification. And everything that does not resist the fire will have to pass through the water.

Numbers 31:23

As the Jewish Passover approached, many went from that region to Jerusalem to participate in the ceremonial cleansings before Passover.

John 11:55

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these are what make a man unclean. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false witness and slander. These things make a man unclean; but eating without washing your hands does not make you unclean."

Matthew 15:18-20

The next day, John saw Jesus approaching and said, "Look! It is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

They were just prescriptions dealing with food and drink and various water purification ceremonies; these outward ordinances were enforced until the time of the new order.

Hebrews 9:10

A leper approached him and begged him on his knees: "If you want, you can cleanse me!"

Mark 1:40

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

"This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I cleanse them from all their sins, I will restore their cities and their ruins will be rebuilt.

Ezekiel 36:33

If anyone purifies himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Lord, prepared for every good work.

Having gathered and consecrated their relatives, the Levites went to cleanse the temple of the Lord, as the king had commanded, in obedience to the word of the Lord.

2 Chronicles 29:15

So let us approach God with a sincere heart and full conviction of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Jesus is the Light of the World. Light eliminates darkness, makes everything visible and allows us to see the way. Jesus illuminates our hearts, reveals sin and salvation to us, and shows us the way to God.

We too can be light to the world. We are children of God, so we live in the light and can show the light to others who are still in the darkness of sin. Whoever walks with God and does what he says walks in the Light of the World.

Speaking again to the people, Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

God created us for freedom in Christ. From the beginning of creation, He ordered man to rule over plants, animals and everything on the face of the earth. Unfortunately, with the fall and arrival of sin, human beings have allowed themselves to be enslaved by all kinds of addictions and compulsions.

Drugs are one of the Evil One's strategies to kill, steal and destroy lives, families and dreams. Illicit substances (natural or synthetic), even the most common and permitted ones such as alcohol and cigarettes, can act in the body as stimulants, or disturbing/hallucinogens, or as tranquilizers, and cause severe dependence in their users. Added to this evil obedience, other problems such as violence, abuse, abandonment, loneliness and spiritual emptiness will be associated.

Don't let yourself be overcome by evil... Drugs imprison on a physiological, psychological and spiritual level. The Bible, however, shows us that there is a way out: in Jesus Christ we can be freed from all kinds of dependence. He wants you to be sober, authentic and free. And we achieve true freedom when we serve the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ.

We can only definitively abandon addiction when we humbly allow God to be Lord of our lives. The false sense of freedom you get from drugs doesn't compare to the true joy and peace you find in God.

The Word of God has power to free the spirit, mind and heart of the one who truly believes in the Lord. When we exchange our will for God's will, we are no longer controlled by our bad impulses and desires and become guided by the Spirit of God.

Seek help! With God you can get out of this! It is not something automatic, but a process, a daily walk with Jesus and his Word. Look for your family and some Christian church and ask for support. It's important to have people by your side on this journey. In addition, it will take time for the body to detoxify and rehabilitate itself again.

It is certain that, if you seek with faith and with all your heart, God will give you the conditions to leave addiction and help you to rise again... Trust him and seek to know Him through the Bible. By knowing the Truth, you will discover freedom in Christ, which will free you from all kinds of drugs and addictions.

Adultery is a sin. Those who practice this act are opposing the will of God. Tampering means breaking the vow that is made during marriage, unfaithfulness.

Whoever commits adultery is disobeying a commandment of God. When two people unite in marriage, they do so not only before men, but before God.

Adulterers, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Anyone who wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Satan has played dirty in recent times... Many people have gone through unimaginable pain. Many Christians and non-Christians alike have been tried. Many have lost their loved ones to illness, accidents and fatalities. A father, a mother, a son, a brother. Young people who would still have a lot to live for, but they left and leave hearts devastated by their absence. Family tragedies abound on the news every day. People who had had recent conquests, however passed away. Everything is over, your plans, your dreams, your achievements. Watch how many souls are leaving this world. Some because in fact God called others, as a result of their choices... But, Satan's target is to distance the living from the Creator. Satan wants to use your pain to get you to blaspheme God. It's a temptation! Don't fall for it! Just like Job did. Satan also tempts the Christian! Many blame God for their pain, however they forget that they make choices and those who left also made the same choice and all of them have consequences. There are accidents, fatalities but there is also imprudence and negligence. Many say: Why did God allow it? Why didn't God interfere? The answer: God is sovereign. There are cases where he intervenes, others not! We cannot live as if we were never going to die. Thinking that God has to do what we want! So live but invest in your spiritual life so you don't lose the biggest trophy! I don't want to lose do you?

Don't let Satan take your greatest trophy away from you! Because that's what he wants!

THE REALITY OF HELL...

 

Hell is the place of punishment for all who sin and rebel against God.  Hell is not the devil's domain - hell is the place where the devil will be punished! Hell is also known as the lake of fire.

Does hell really exist?

Yes, hell does exist. Jesus spoke more often about hell than about heaven. It's not a metaphor. That's why it's so important to believe in Jesus. The just punishment for sin is to go to hell, a place completely separated from God, who is the source of all that is good. Separated from God, all that remains is suffering.

Only Jesus can save from hell. He took the punishment of sin on the cross to save everyone who believes in him from hell. Instead of going to hell, the saved will live forever with Jesus in Heaven!

The Devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of fire burning with brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet had already been thrown. They will be tormented day and night, forever and ever.

Revelation 20:10

The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them; and each one was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Those whose names were not found in the book of life were cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:13-15

"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Cursed ones, depart from me into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels.

Matthew 25:41

They will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction, separation from the presence of the Lord and the majesty of his power.

2 Thessalonians 1:9

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the depraved, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice witchcraft, the idolaters and all liars - their place will be in the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. This is the second death."

Revelation 21:8

But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Also, whoever says to his brother: 'Racá', will be taken to court. And anyone who says, 'Fool!' runs the risk of going to hell fire.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

For God did not spare the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, imprisoning them in dark pits to be reserved for judgment.

If his hand causes you to stumble, cut it off.
