PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS...

The world says you should always be happy. Seek your happiness. But this is not the Christian's reality! God allows sadness in the lives of his children to develop our faith! We are proven! Perfected! Even if we don't notice...

God has the ability to turn what is bad into something good for our growth!

2 Corinthians 7

1 Now, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Receive us into your hearts; We hurt no one, we corrupted no one, we took advantage of no one.

3 I do not say this to condemn you; for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die and live together.

4 Great is the boldness of my speech towards you, and great is my boasting concerning you; I am full of consolation; overflow of joy in all our tribulations.

5 For even when we came to Macedonia, our flesh had no rest; we were afflicted before in everything: fights outside, fears inside.

6 But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus.

7 And not only by his coming, but also by the consolation with which he was comforted by you, telling us of your longing, your weeping, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced greatly.

8 For though I grieved you with my letter, I do not regret it, although I already regretted it when I saw that that letter grieved you, even for a little while.

9 Now I rejoice, not because you were made sorrowful, but because you were made sorrowful unto repentance; for you were grieved according to God; so that for us you suffered no harm in anything.

10 For godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation, which no man repents of; but the sorrow of the world works death.

11 For how much care produced this in you who, according to God, were grieved! what apology, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what revenge! In everything you have shown yourselves to be pure in this matter.

12 Therefore, although I wrote to you, it was not because of him who did the wrong, nor because of him who was wronged, but that your great care for us might be manifested before God.

13 Therefore we were comforted by your consolation, and we rejoiced much more in the joy of Titus, because his spirit was recreated by you all.

14 For if I boasted of you in anything to him, I was not ashamed; but as we told you everything in truth, our glorying in Titus was also found true.

15 And his tender affection toward you is more abundant, remembering the obedience of all of you, and how you received him with fear and trembling.

16 I am glad that I can trust in you in everything.

Mortal (or grave) sin is serious disobedience to God and His Law.

Sin is deadly when:

1- The matter is serious (when it is something important)

2- There is knowledge of the facts (when the person knows what he is doing)

3- There is deliberate will (when it is done on purpose)

If one of these three items is missing, the sin is light or pardonable.

Mortal sin is so called because it makes us lose the grace of God, that is, communion with God, leading our soul to a state of death.

Whoever commits a mortal sin breaks friendship with God by his own choice and places himself under the yoke of Satan. This is why the Bible says that everyone who lives in the practice of sin is of Satan (1 John 3:8).

Mortal sin is the greatest evil and the greatest disgrace that a human being can do in this life, precisely because it makes us lose our greatest good, which is God.

Whoever commits a mortal sin becomes guilty of hell, that is, he becomes worthy of hell, so that if he dies in that state, without repentance, he will go straight to hell.

The most common mortal sins today are:

– Sexual practices outside of marriage (adultery, fornication, prostitution, etc.)

– Pornography (including soap operas with immoral scenes, BBBs, etc.)

– Masturbation

– indecent dating

– Lust

– Attending false doctrines (spiritism, macumbaria, freemasonry, magic, etc.)

– Lying or giving false testimony

– slander people

– Steal or steal

– Subscribing or voting for abortionist associations or parties or those that defend ideas seriously contrary to the family (such as PT, PC do B, PSOL, PV, PSTU, PDT, etc.)

– Practicing or supporting the practice of abortion

– Getting drunk or using drugs

– Attending mundane parties or shows (carnival, discos, nightclubs, raves, funk dances, etc.)

- Among many others…

For whatever was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Matthew 7: 13. Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it; 14. And because narrow is the gate, and narrow is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it.

For those who no longer have a mother on earth or have lost a loved one!

We know that just as Jesus was resurrected, when He returns, He will resurrect our loved ones... This is our hope 🙌

Christ did not die in vain!

What does the Bible say about the resurrection of the dead?

The Bible says that the resurrection of the dead is the great hope of all who believe in Jesus. At the end of time, the dead will be raised and the saved will live forever with Jesus. Those who are saved need not be afraid of death because they know they will rise to eternal life!

The Bible clearly speaks that the resurrection is a real thing. It's not a metaphor; it will really happen. And the proof of that is Jesus. He rose to eternal life to show that this is the destiny of all who believe in him (1 Corinthians 15:20-22).

If there is no resurrection of the dead, our faith is useless (1 Corinthians 15:17-19). Life on earth is short and difficult, but the resurrection of the dead holds the promise of a life free from suffering, which will never end, for those who love Jesus.

See also: how was the resurrection of Jesus.

What will the resurrection of the dead be like?

The Bible says that the resurrection of the dead will happen at the end of time, when Jesus returns. All people who have ever existed will be resurrected and judged by God. Some will receive eternal punishment, but others will receive eternal life (Daniel 12:2).

God will judge each one according to what he did during his lifetime. People who do not have their names written in the book of life will be thrown into the lake of fire, along with the devil, where they will suffer eternal damnation. This is the second death (Revelation 20:13-15). But the saved will receive:

a transformed body

This will be a spiritual body, uncorrupted by sin. The new body of the saved will not grow old or deteriorate. It will be a glorious body, like the body of Jesus when he was resurrected (1 Corinthians 15:42-44).

Consolation

God will wipe away all tears and give perfect joy to the saved in the resurrection. There will be no more pain or suffering (Revelation 21:3-4).

Eternal life

In the resurrection, the saved will live forever with God! There will be no more death. All will live forever, receiving eternal life directly from God (Revelation 22:3-5). The joy will last forever!

THE WORD WASHES, CLEANS AND PURIFIES...

Purification is the act or effect of making something or someone pure or purified.

In the Bible we see numerous references regarding purification. Once sin entered the world, making human beings impure before the holiness of God, ways in which men should purify themselves were communicated.

Purification rituals were introduced in the Old Testament, through which people, symbolically and spiritually, became cleansed of their sins by obeying God's guidance. Purifying water or fire, cleaning the body, clothing and house were used to purify the unclean (Numbers 19:9 and cf Numbers 19:18-20).

The Law of Moses explained the situations in which people became ceremonially unclean (Leviticus 14:54-57), as well as all the procedures to cleanse and purify the people of God from their impurities - sometimes by fire, sometimes by water ( Numbers 31:23).

In addition to the spiritual meaning, this entire purification process was valid to ensure asepsis within the camp, preventing the spread of plagues and contagious diseases. There were also special times, with feasts and offerings of sacrifices that involved the times of purification of the Jews (John 11:55).

In the New Testament, we learn from the teachings of Christ that what makes man unclean is much deeper than simply cleaning procedures and external asepsis. We all have a serious problem of heart impurity. Jesus taught that what comes out of the mouth, proceeding from a corrupt heart, is what makes a person unclean (Matthew 15:18-20).

Only in Jesus Christ can man be purified from the corruption caused by sin (John 1:29). It is necessary to take into account the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:3) and His testimony, through water (baptism of repentance), blood (faith in the sacrifice on the cross) and the Holy Spirit and fire (Matthew 3:11 ) for our total purification.

Purification in the Bible

"A ceremonially clean man will collect the heifer's ashes and place them in a clean place outside the camp. They will be kept by the community of Israel for use in the water of purification, for the cleansing of sins.

Numbers 19:9

Then a ceremonially clean man will take hyssop, dip it in water and sprinkle it on the tent, on all the utensils and on all the people who were there. He will also sprinkle it on anyone who has touched a human bone, or a tomb, or anyone who has been killed or who has died a natural death. He who is clean shall sprinkle it on the unclean person on the third and seventh day, and on the seventh day he must purify him. The one being cleansed will wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and that evening he will be clean. But if he who is unclean does not purify himself, he shall be cut off from the assembly, for he has defiled the sanctuary of the Lord. The water of purification was not sprinkled on him, and he is unclean.

Numbers 19:18-20

This is the regulation concerning any kind of leprosy, scabies, mold on clothes or in a house, and swelling, rash, or shiny spot, to determine whether a thing is clean or unclean.

That's the regulation about any kind of leprosy and mold.

Leviticus 14:54-57

and whatever resists the fire, you will have to pass through the fire to purify it, but you will also have to purify it with the water of purification. And everything that does not resist the fire will have to pass through the water.

Numbers 31:23

As the Jewish Passover approached, many went from that region to Jerusalem to participate in the ceremonial cleansings before Passover.

John 11:55

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these are what make a man unclean. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false witness and slander. These things make a man unclean; but eating without washing your hands does not make you unclean."

Matthew 15:18-20

The next day, John saw Jesus approaching and said, "Look! It is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

John 1:29

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact expression of his being, upholding all things by his powerful word. After he had accomplished purification of sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Hebrews 1:3

"I baptize you with water unto repentance. But after me comes someone mightier than I, so much so that I am not worthy even to bear his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Matthew 3:11

Completing the time for their purification, according to the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord

Luke 2:22

The next day Paul took those men and purified himself with them. Then he went to the temple to declare the deadline for the fulfillment of the days of purification and the offering that would be made individually on their behalf.

Acts of the Apostles 21:26

whoever sets his heart to seek the LORD, the God of his ancestors, even if he is not pure according to the rules of the sanctuary."

2 Chronicles 30:19

"A ceremonially clean man will collect the heifer's ashes and place them in a clean place outside the camp. They will be kept by the community of Israel for use in the water of purification, for the cleansing of sins.

1 John 1:9

"This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I cleanse them from all their sins, I will restore their cities and their ruins will be rebuilt.

Ezekiel 36:33

If anyone purifies himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Lord, prepared for every good work.

2 Timothy 2:21

He gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all wickedness, and purify for himself a people particularly his own, dedicated to the practice of good works.

Titus 2:14

Having gathered and consecrated their relatives, the Levites went to cleanse the temple of the Lord, as the king had commanded, in obedience to the word of the Lord.

THE BIBLE IS NOT THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD, IT IS THE LIGHT OF THE CHURCH! BUT, THE WORLD DOES NOT READ THE BIBLE, IT READS CHRISTIANS: YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!

Jesus is the Light of the World. Light eliminates darkness, makes everything visible and allows us to see the way. Jesus illuminates our hearts, reveals sin and salvation to us, and shows us the way to God.

We too can be light to the world. We are children of God, so we live in the light and can show the light to others who are still in the darkness of sin. Whoever walks with God and does what he says walks in the Light of the World.

Light of the World in the Bible

Speaking again to the people, Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

John 8:12

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

John 9:5

In him was life, and this was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not defeated it.

John 1:4-5

Your word is a lamp

that lights up my steps

and light that clears my path.

Psalm 119:105

The People Who Walked in Darkness

saw a great light;

about those who lived on earth

from the shadow of death

a light flashed.

Isaiah 9:2

I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me may not remain in darkness.

John 12:46

This is the judgment: light has come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Those who do evil hate the light and do not approach the light, fearing that their deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the light, so that his deeds may be clearly seen to have been wrought through God."

John 3:19-21

For in you is the fountain of life;

thanks to your light, we see the light.

Psalm 36:9

"Arise, shine!

Because your light has come,

and the glory of the Lord shines upon you. Look! Darkness covers the land,

dense darkness envelops the people,

but upon you the Lord shines,

and upon you is seen his glory. Nations will come to your light

and kings in the brightness of their dawn.

Isaiah 60:1-3

"Listen to me, my people;

hear me, my nation:

The law will go out from me;

my righteousness will become a light to the nations.

Isaiah 51:4

“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a bowl. that are in the house: so let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

For thus the Lord commanded us:

"'I have made you a light to the Gentiles,

for you to bring salvation

to the ends of the earth'".

Acts of the Apostles 13:47

You are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or darkness.

1 Thessalonians 5:5

This is the message that we heard from him and that we transmit to you: God is light; there is no darkness in him. If we claim to have fellowship with him but walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 1:5-7

For you rescued me from death

and at my stumbling feet,

so that I may walk before God

in the light that illuminates the living.

Psalm 56:13

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. But we preach not ourselves, but Jesus Christ the Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:4-6

There will be no more night. They will not need lamplight or sunlight, for the Lord God will give them light; and they will reign forever and ever.
