 Matthew 24: 1-51

The Sign of the End Times 🌎

(Mc 13.1-31; Lk 21.5-37)

1 Jesus left the temple, and while he was walking, his disciples approached him to show him the buildings of the temple.

2 "Do you see all this?" He asked. “I guarantee that there will be no stone left unturned; they will all be overthrown. ”

3 When Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples addressed him in private and said: “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign of your coming and the end of time? ”🇮🇱

4 Jesus replied, “Watch out, let no one deceive you. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ!' And will deceive many. 6 You will hear about wars and rumors of wars, but do not be afraid. It is necessary for such things to happen, but it is not yet the end.

7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in several places. 8 All of this will be the beginning of pain. ⏳

9 “Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time, many will be scandalized, will betray and hate one another, 11and numerous false prophets will arise and deceive many. 12 Due to the increase in wickedness, the love of many will grow cold, 13 but whoever endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

15 “So, when you see 'the terrible sacrilege', of which the prophet Daniel spoke, in the Holy Place — whoever reads, understand— 16 then those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Whoever is on the roof of your house, do not go down to take anything from it. 18 Whoever is in the field does not return to get his mantle. 19 How terrible those days will be for pregnant women and those who are breastfeeding! 20 Pray that your flight will not happen in winter or on Saturday. 21For then there will be great tribulation, as there has never been since the beginning of the world until now, nor will there ever be. 22 If those days were not cut short, no one would survive; but, because of the elect, those days will be shortened. 23 If, then, someone says: 'Look, here is the Christ!' Or: 'There he is!', Don't believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear who will perform great signs and wonders to, if possible, deceive even the elect. 25 See that I warned you in advance. ”

26 “So, if someone says:‘ He is there, in the desert! ’, Do not leave; or: ‘There he is, inside the house!’, don’t believe it. 27 For just as the lightning comes out of the East and shows itself in the West, so will the coming of the Son of man. 28 Where there is a corpse, the vultures will gather there.

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days

"‘ The sun will darken, 🌒

and the moon will not give its light;

the stars will fall from the sky, 🌠

and the celestial powers will be shaken'.☄️

30 “Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the nations of the earth will mourn and see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. 🛌🛏

32 “Learn the lesson of the fig tree: when its branches are renewed and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. 33 So also, when you see all these things, know that he is near, at the gates. 34 I assure you that this generation will not pass away until all these things happen. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.📜

Day and Hour Are Unknown

(Mc 13.32-37)

36 “As for the day and hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the coming of the Son of man. 38 For in the days before the Flood, the people lived eating and drinking, getting married and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark; 39 and they realized nothing, until the Flood came and took them all. So it will be at the coming of the Son of man. 40 Two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be working in a mill: one will be taken and the other left.⏲️

42 “Watch therefore, because you do not know what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: if the owner of the house knew what time of the night the thief would come, he would be on guard and would not let his house be broken into. 44 So you also need to be prepared, because the Son of Man will come at a time when you least expect it. 🛐

45 “Who, then, is the faithful and sensible servant, whom his master is in charge of the other servants in his household to give them food in due time? 46 Happy is the servant that his master finds doing so when he returns. 47 I guarantee that he will take charge of all his assets. 48 But suppose that servant is evil and say to yourself, 'My lord is taking too long', 49 and then start beating your servants and eating and drinking with drunks. 50 The master of that servant will come in a day when he does not expect him and in an hour that he does not know. 51 He will punish you severely and make room for you hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 😭
