"DO NOT ACORDEIS NOR UNDERSTAND THE LOVE, UNTIL THEY WANT IT". CANTARES 2: 7
God created and blessed the true love between a man and a woman; But what are the characteristics of this love? How to identify it? How to distinguish between superficial "passion" and genuine love? The book of Songs identifies many elements of true love, but two stand out. True love knows how to EXPECT and true love is EXCLUSIVE.
In reality, there are various kinds of love. In antiquity, the Greeks used at least three words to identify the kind of love they were referring to: The first "Eros," which refers to sexual love. Describes the erotic feelings between a man and a woman. In God's plan, these feelings must be expressed in marriage.
The second "phileo" describes the love between parents and children. It is the love of friendship and brotherly love.
The third and most sublime is love "Agape". Love that characterizes God. In 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 the apostle Paul shows us 15 characteristics of love. A marriage based on agape love can survive any storm or crisis that life brings. Because? Because it is connected to the eternal source that is God.
The Word of God tells us that love never ends. No matter the circumstances. This love conquers all because of its intrinsic qualities.
Today we see love being treated in a banal and meaningless way. We have characterized the love that should bring the shekinah, the power of God over the relationship with the other in the act of loving in all genuine forms and expressions; In relationships that express no sanctity, no friendship, no characteristic described by 'Paul' in 1Co 13.
We have come across the reality of the exhaustive search for "love" in the other randomly; People alert at all times in the expectation, in search of a companion who can express this "love"; Was this the date? Why dating? Was it to pass the time? Suffering deficiencies or simply because it is good to be in the "state" of dating ?, that is, the feeling and expectation of someone to call, the exchange of affection. Why have we wanted to awaken this love, without foundation and foundation?
The Word shows us through the book of Songs something very interesting:
"DO NOT ACORDEIS NOR UNDERSTAND THE LOVE, UNTIL THEY WANT IT".
2: 7 - I beseech thee, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles and the hinds of the field, that thou wilt not awake nor waken love, until he will.
3: 5 - Women of Jerusalem, I make them swear by the gazelles and the hinds of the field: Do not stir up or disturb the love until it pleases you.
8: 4 - Women of Jerusalem, I have made them swear, Let neither awake nor disturb the love until he wills it.
True love knows how to wait, and for this, you can enjoy to the maximum the delights that God has reserved for the couple. True love is not hasty or impatient. You do not have to manipulate circumstances to win love.
You do not have to seduce to draw attention to yourself. You do not have to "give in" for fear of losing the beloved.
Love is something prepared and God sends unexpectedly and in the time that we are not awakened, we are in fact prepared to receive this love in a special, genuine, honorable way. The expected love, makes us grow in wisdom and understanding, without craving, but simply in holiness.
There is a reversal of values in our day, and we need to be discerning and faithful to the Word!
The Word attaches great importance to true and faithful love, which knows how to wait in due time to enjoy the pleasure God has reserved for the conjugal relationship between man and his wife.
1 Corinthians 13 -
"He is patient ... he does not burn in jealousy ... he does not conduct himself inconveniently, he does not seek his interests ... he suffers, he believes, he hopes, he endures all."
Love is exclusive: Song 2:16 "My beloved is mine, and I am his"
God reserves the greatest romantic pleasures for those who know how to wait for time.
His! For this reason, perfect love is characterized by Hope and Exclusivity:
"DO NOT ACCORDION OR UNDERSTAND LOVE, UNTIL YOU WANT IT."
"I AM OF MY BELOVED, AND MY BELOVED IS MY"
