14 apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John.
15 who, having come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit
16 (because on none of them had yet come; only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus).
17 And laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the hands of the apostles was given the Holy Spirit, offered them money,
19 Saying: Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.
20 But Peter said to him: Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right before God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray to God, that perhaps be forgiven the thought of thine heart;
23 For I see that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and the bond of iniquity.
24 In reply, however, Simon said, Pray ye for me to the Lord, so that nothing you have said may come upon me.
25 When they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem and in many villages of the Samaritans preached the gospel.

AMOS 5: 20-24

20 Shall not the day of the LORD darkness, and not light, and darkness, no brightness in it?
21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and your solemn assemblies not give forth me smell good.
22 And yet you offer me your burnt offerings, food offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
23 Take away from me the noise of your songs; why not hear the melody of your harps.
24 Run, however, the judgment as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
