What is missing for Jesus to come back ...

 

These are just the Beginning of the Pains...

But how long have we heard of wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes, famines, pestilences. Notice that in recent years, these incidents have escalated..

Matthew 24:1-31

The prophetic sermon.

The beginning of pains

24 And when Jesus was going out of the temple, his disciples came near him to show him the structure of the temple. 2 But Jesus said unto them, Do you not see all this? Verily I say unto you there shall not be any stone upon stone that shall not be knocked down.

3 And being seated on the mount of olives, his disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us when these things will be, and what sign will be of your coming and of the end of the world?

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Beware, that no man deceive you, 5 ãofor many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many . 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; behold, be not afraid: for it is a mystery that all these things take place, but

The end is not yet . 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in various places. 8 But all these things are the beginning of pains. 9 Therefore they shall hand you over to be tormented and they shall kill you; and you shall be hated of all people for my name's sake. 10 In that time many will be scandalous, and will betray one another, and will be displeased with one another. 11 And many false prophets shall arise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of many shall grow cold. 13 But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all people, and then the end will come.

15 When then you see that the abomination of desolation, which the prophet Daniel spoke of, is in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 then those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; 17 and whoever is on the roof should not come down to take anything of his home; 18 and whoever is in the field should not turn back from getting their garments. 19 But woe to the pregnant women and those who breastfeed in those days! 20 And pray that your escape will not take place in winter or on Saturday, 21 for there will be, then, great affliction, such as never has been since the beginning of the world until now, nor shall there ever be. 22 And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would be saved: but those days will be shortened for the elect's sake. 23 So if anyone says to you, Behold, the Christ is here or there, do not give him credit, 24 for false Christs and false prophets will arise and will perform such great signs and wonders, that, if possible, they will deceive even the very elect. 25 here I come I’m predicting it. 26 Therefore if they say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness, do not go out; or, Behold, he be in the house, believe not. 27 For just as the lightning cometh out of the east and appears unto the west, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28 For wherever the corpse is, there the eagles will gather.

29 And soon after the affliction of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn and see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet cry, which will gather his chosen from the four winds, from one end of the heaven to the other.

What remains to happen for Jesus' return?

Luke 21:20

20 But, when they see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, they will know that the time for their destruction has come . 21 So those who are in Judea flee to the mountains! Whoever is in Jerusalem try to flee, and whoever is outside the city don't try to return. 22 For those will be the days of God’s judgment, when the Scriptures will be fully fulfilled. 23 Woe to the pregnant women and those who breastfeed in those days! For there shall be great anguish in this nation and wrath upon this people. 24 They will be brutally killed or sent as exiles and captives to all the nations of the world. And Jerusalem shall be conquered and trampled upon by the Gentiles, until the time of these is fulfilled.

Jesus speaks of his return

(Mt 24.23-35; Mc 13.21-31)

25 Then there will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. Here on earth the nations will be perplexed and perplexed by the roaring of the seas and strange tides. 26 The courage of many will be weakened when they see the terrible fate approaching Earth, for the forces that sustain the universe will be shaken. 27 And then the peoples of the earth will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 When all these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your salvation is near! "

29 And he gave them this parable: “Notice the figs or any other tree. 30 When the leaves pop, no need to tell you summer is near. 31 And when these things which I have told you come to pass, you may be certain that the kingdom of God is at hand. 32 Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away until all these things come to pass. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will stand forever.

13 But we must always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation, in sanctification of the Spirit, and faith of the truth;

14 To whom by our gospel called you, that you may attain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 Therefore, brothers, stand firm and keep the traditions that were taught you, whether by word or by our epistle.

16 And our Lord Jesus Christ himself and our God and Father, who loved us and in grace gave us eternal consolation and good hope,

17 Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.

PROBLEM:

Romans 3:23-26

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to demonstrate his righteousness through the forgiveness of sins that were committed before, under the patience of God; to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

CONSEQUENCE:

In the Bible, sin means 'missing the mark'. Sin is transgressing, rebelling, disobeying God, not following his perfect standard. Due to sin, everyone was separated from God and condemned to the sad consequence of death. Sin is the cause why there is evil in the world.

Whoever lives in sin is a slave to sin and does the will of the Devil, the father of sin. Our flesh is weak and subject to error. However, God sent Jesus to free us from sin. Jesus never sinned, but offered himself as payment for our sins.

Now those who receive Jesus as their Savior and live a life separated from evil, are freed from the power of evil. Whoever lives with Christ will no longer be a slave to sin, and will be united again with God!

When you sin, confess and forsake evil, God is faithful and just to forgive and purify your life.

12 Therefore, let not sin reign in your mortal body, that you obey it in its lusts;

13 Neither present your members to sin as instruments of iniquity; but present yourselves to God, as living from the dead, and your members to God, as instruments of righteousness.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

15 So what? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Not at all.

16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves servants to obey him, those you are servants to whom you obey, either of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

17 But thanks be to God that, having been the servants of sin, you obeyed from your heart the form of doctrine to which you were handed over.

18 And having been freed from sin, you became servants of righteousness.

19 I speak as a man, because of the weakness of your flesh; for as you have presented your members to serve uncleanness, and iniquity for evil, so now present your members to serve righteousness for sanctification.

20 For when you were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.

21 And what fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? Because their end is death.

22 But now, freed from sin, and made servants of God, you have your fruit for sanctification, and the end eternal life.

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

WHY DOES THE WORLD JUST GET WORSE?

2 PETER 3

1 Beloved, I now write you this second letter, in both of which I awaken your sincere hearts with exhortation;

2 That you may remember the words which were first spoken by the holy prophets, and our commandment, as the apostles of the Lord and Savior.

3 Knowing this first, that scoffers will come in the last days, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things remain as they were from the beginning of creation.

5 They willfully ignore this, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth, which was taken out of the water, and in the midst of the water remains.

6 By which things the world then perished, covered with the waters of the flood,

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now by the same word, are kept in reserve as treasure, and are kept for fire, until the day of judgment, and destruction of ungodly men.

8 But do not be ignorant of this one thing, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack in his promise, though some count slackness; but he is longsuffering toward us, not willing that some should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

11 Therefore, if all these things are to perish, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,

12 Waiting and hastening for the coming of the day of God, in which the heavens will be dissolved in fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

13 But we, according to his promise, are waiting for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.

14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, do your best to be found by him spotless and blameless in peace.

15 And account the longsuffering of our Lord salvation; as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you, according to the wisdom given him;

16 Speaking of this, as in all his Epistles, among which are points hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable wrest, and likewise the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest you be carried away by the deceit of abominable men, and fall from your steadfastness;

18 Rather, grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To him be the glory, now, as on the day of eternity. Amen.

Repentance is feeling sorry for your sin and deciding to change. Those who repent reject sin and recognize that they need Jesus to be saved. True repentance comes from the conviction of sin by the Holy Spirit and leads you to change your life, with the help of Jesus.

Repentance comes from the heart but is revealed in your life. Those who repent have a different attitude: they are humble and try to do what is right to please God. Repentance is the essential condition for salvation.

Repent therefore, and turn to God, that your sins may be blotted out,

Acts of the Apostles 3:19

Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

Luke 5:31-32

I say that, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

Luke 15:10

In the past God overlooked this ignorance, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world in righteousness by the man he has appointed. And he gave proof of this to everyone, raising him from the dead ".

Acts of the Apostles 17:30-31

I say no! But if you don't repent, all of you will also perish.
