UNDERSTAND THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM, THE CONSEQUENCES AND THE SOLUTION!!!

PROBLEM:

Romans 3:23-26

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to demonstrate his righteousness through the forgiveness of sins that were committed before, under the patience of God; to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

CONSEQUENCE:

In the Bible, sin means 'missing the mark'. Sin is transgressing, rebelling, disobeying God, not following his perfect standard. Due to sin, everyone was separated from God and condemned to the sad consequence of death. Sin is the cause why there is evil in the world.

Whoever lives in sin is a slave to sin and does the will of the Devil, the father of sin. Our flesh is weak and subject to error. However, God sent Jesus to free us from sin. Jesus never sinned, but offered himself as payment for our sins.

Now those who receive Jesus as their Savior and live a life separated from evil, are freed from the power of evil. Whoever lives with Christ will no longer be a slave to sin, and will be united again with God!

When you sin, confess and forsake evil, God is faithful and just to forgive and purify your life.

1 John 1:8-9

We know that the Law is spiritual; I, however, am not, for I was sold as a slave to sin. I don't understand what I do. For I do not do what I wish, but what I hate. And if I do what I don't want, I admit that the Law is good. In that case, it is no longer I who do it, but the sin that dwells in me.

Romans 7:14-17

When he comes, he will convince the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. Of sin, because men do not believe in me;

John 16:8-9

Who hides their sins

does not prosper,

but who confesses them and forsakes them

finds mercy.

I said, "I will confess my transgressions,"

to the Lord,

and you forgave the guilt of my sin.

Against you, against you alone, I have sinned

and I did what you reproached,

so that just is your sentence

and you are right to condemn me. I know I'm a sinner since I was born;

yes, since my mother conceived me. I know that you desire the truth in your heart;

and in my heart you teach me wisdom. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;

and the bones you have crushed will rejoice. Hide the face of my sins

and blot out all my iniquities.

Matthew 18:15

Therefore, do not allow sin to continue to dominate your mortal body, making you obey its desires. Do not offer your body members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; rather offer yourselves to God as those who have returned from death to life; and offer your body members to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under law but under grace. And then? Are we going to sin because we are not under law but under grace? In no way! Don't you know that when you offer yourself to someone to obey him as a slave, you become slaves to the one you obey: slaves of sin that leads to death, or of obedience that leads to righteousness? But thank God that, although you were slaves to sin, you came to obey from your heart the form of teaching that was given to you. You were freed from sin and became slaves to righteousness.

Romans 6:12-18

Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other to be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

James 5:16

Brethren, if anyone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual must gently restore him. But let each one of you take care that you are not tempted either. Bear one another's heavy burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:1-2

But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Matthew 18:6

1 John 5:18

If you forgive someone's sins, they are forgiven; if you don't forgive them, you won't be forgiven".

John 20:23

But now that you have been freed from sin and become slaves to God, the fruit you reap leads to holiness, and the end of it is eternal life.

Romans 6:22

  SOLUTION:

Romans 6

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 Not at all. How shall we who are dead to sin live in it any longer?

3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 So we were buried with him by baptism into death; so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

5 For if we were planted together with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection;

6 Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer serve sin.

7 For he who is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;

9 Knowing that Christ having been raised from the dead, he dies no more; death no longer has dominion over him.

10 For as for that he died, he died to sin at once; but as to living, he lives to God.

11 So you also reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

12 Therefore, let not sin reign in your mortal body, that you obey it in its lusts;

13 Neither present your members to sin as instruments of iniquity; but present yourselves to God, as living from the dead, and your members to God, as instruments of righteousness.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

15 So what? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Not at all.

16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves servants to obey him, those you are servants to whom you obey, either of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

17 But thanks be to God that, having been the servants of sin, you obeyed from your heart the form of doctrine to which you were handed over.

18 And having been freed from sin, you became servants of righteousness.

19 I speak as a man, because of the weakness of your flesh; for as you have presented your members to serve uncleanness, and iniquity for evil, so now present your members to serve righteousness for sanctification.

20 For when you were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.

21 And what fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? Because their end is death.

22 But now, freed from sin, and made servants of God, you have your fruit for sanctification, and the end eternal life.

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

WHY DOES THE WORLD JUST GET WORSE?

2 PETER 3

1 Beloved, I now write you this second letter, in both of which I awaken your sincere hearts with exhortation;

2 That you may remember the words which were first spoken by the holy prophets, and our commandment, as the apostles of the Lord and Savior.

3 Knowing this first, that scoffers will come in the last days, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things remain as they were from the beginning of creation.

5 They willfully ignore this, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth, which was taken out of the water, and in the midst of the water remains.

6 By which things the world then perished, covered with the waters of the flood,

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now by the same word, are kept in reserve as treasure, and are kept for fire, until the day of judgment, and destruction of ungodly men.

8 But do not be ignorant of this one thing, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack in his promise, though some count slackness; but he is longsuffering toward us, not willing that some should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

11 Therefore, if all these things are to perish, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,

12 Waiting and hastening for the coming of the day of God, in which the heavens will be dissolved in fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

13 But we, according to his promise, are waiting for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.

14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, do your best to be found by him spotless and blameless in peace.

15 And account the longsuffering of our Lord salvation; as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you, according to the wisdom given him;

16 Speaking of this, as in all his Epistles, among which are points hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable wrest, and likewise the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest you be carried away by the deceit of abominable men, and fall from your steadfastness;

18 Rather, grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To him be the glory, now, as on the day of eternity. Amen.

Repentance is feeling sorry for your sin and deciding to change. Those who repent reject sin and recognize that they need Jesus to be saved. True repentance comes from the conviction of sin by the Holy Spirit and leads you to change your life, with the help of Jesus.

Repentance comes from the heart but is revealed in your life. Those who repent have a different attitude: they are humble and try to do what is right to please God. Repentance is the essential condition for salvation.

What the Bible Says About Repentance

Repent therefore, and turn to God, that your sins may be blotted out,

Acts of the Apostles 3:19

Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

Luke 5:31-32

I say that, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

Luke 15:10

In the past God overlooked this ignorance, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world in righteousness by the man he has appointed. And he gave proof of this to everyone, raising him from the dead ".

Acts of the Apostles 17:30-31

I say no! But if you don't repent, all of you will also perish.

Luke 13:3

"Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways. declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn from all your evils, so that sin does not cause you to fall from you. Get rid of all the evils you have committed and seek a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone. Says the Sovereign LORD. Repent up and live!

Ezekiel 18:30-32

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

Have mercy on me, O God,

for your love;

for your great compassion

blot out my transgressions. Wash me of all my guilt

and cleanse me from my sin. for myself

I recognize my transgressions,

and my sin always pursues me. Against you, against you alone, I have sinned

and I did what you reproached,

so that just is your sentence

and you are right to condemn me.

Bear fruit that shows repentance!

Matthew 3:8

Now, however, I rejoice, not because you were made sad, but because your sadness led you to repentance. For you were grieved as God wished and were not harmed at all because of us. Godly sorrow does not produce remorse, but repentance that leads to salvation, and worldly sorrow produces death.

2 Corinthians 7:9-10

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.

"The time has come," he said. "The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the good news!"

Mark 1:15

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you! Sinners, cleanse your hands, and you who are divided in mind, purify your hearts.

James 4:8

Peter replied, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts of the Apostles 2:38

So I acknowledged before you my sin

and I did not cover up my faults.

I said, "I will confess my transgressions,"

to the Lord,

and you forgave the guilt of my sin.

Psalm 32:5

Says the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel:

"In repentance and rest

is your salvation,

in stillness and trust

is your strength,

but you didn't want to.

Isaiah 30:15

Then Jesus began to denounce the cities in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.

Matthew 11:20

Be careful.

"If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times a day, and comes back to you seven times and says, 'I am sorry,' forgive him."

Sin!

What a short word - but who can penetrate its deep abyss with thought?

No mind can trace your birth - no eye can see your death.

Before the worlds were born, he climbed the heavens and dragged the angels down.

At the first dawn of life he entered Eden and killed innocence.

It does not end with the end of our times.

It always rolls its deeper and deeper course over humanity.

Sin...

It is the death blow on earth.

He spoiled the beauty of a beautiful world and stripped it of its lovely mantle.

He caused the ground to harden and the leaves to wither and decay.

He turned fertility into weeds and set the skewer with his bristling thorns.

He made the clouds darken and the storm rage.

He raised the storm's roar and flowed lightning with his forked wings.

He set foot in a perfect work, and left a chaotic wreck!

Sin...

It is the ruin of man.

Its most powerful rust has fallen on our inner life.

He expelled the soul from peaceful communion with God.

He changed the loving child into a hardened rebel.

He stole the mind from the light.

It turned reason into a labyrinth of chaos.

He did it from the heart. . .

a nest of unclean birds;

a source of impure streams;

a whirlpool of dark passions;

a hot bed of ungodly lusts;

a den of God-defying schemes!

Sin...

It is the disease - the misery - the shame of our entire race!

It's the spring of all tears!

It's every sigh that comes out of the chest;

every frown that is on the forehead;

every pain that wraps around the limbs is cradled in your arms.

Sin...

It is the mother of that mighty monster - death!

He digs every grave in every cemetery.

Every widow and orphan tastes its gall.

He fills every hospital with patients.

Fills the battlefield with the dead.

It is the core of all suffering.

It is the worm that gnaws at the root of peace.

Sin...

Its terrible destructions do not die in the grave.

There is a region where their torments reign.

He built the prison of Hell.

He lit dull flames.

He forged the chains that bind lost sinners to their fiery beds.

He sharpened the immortal sting of an offensive conscience.

Drive despair into that outer darkness where. . .

there is always crying and crying

and howls of lamentation,

and teeth that forever gnash,

and everything is there, where neither rest nor end is known.

Sin...

He works this bitter and eternal anguish, because the curse of God accompanies him.

He raised a rebellious hand against his will.

He dared to violate His holy law.

He strove to put his honor in the dust.

He trod on the book of the statutes of heaven.

Therefore, the wrath of God fiercely burns against him.

Therefore all misery goes his way.

He must be forever miserable, for he has God against him!

Sin...

Here is the picture where all the horrors meet!

Consider it with a serious eye.

No fiction can color it.

No power can finally describe its terrible reality.

No artist's skill can represent even a flame of consequence.

The awful truth exceeds description.

The lost are eternally ashamed to behold the deserts of sin!

Sin...

Although sin is death, the sinner need not die.

There is an escape fortress.

There is a medicine to heal these wounds.

Though your sins are as countless as the sands? All of them can disappear.

Is he black as the starless night?

Each can be washed.

The dirt can be all cleaned up.

Debts can be eliminated.

The soul can meet the eye of the Triune God without a single blemish.

There is a way by which the vilest can remain pure.

God's love decreed a plan.

He wanted a ransom and his Son achieved it.

Sin...

Get closer to the incredible view!

Every sin must bear its load of woes.

Every curse must be borne.

Every violation of the holy law must drink every cup of condemnation.

Sin...

Jesus comes to help!

The innocent takes the guilty place.

The God-man represents his chosen flock.

He stands as your complete and perfect sin offering.

He pays in anguish and in blood, the entire debt.

His wrath is borne.

His penalties are paid.

Your sufferings are suffered.

His agonies are agonizingly taken.

The work of salvation requires a multitude of afflictions. Infinite affliction is borne by Him.

His Deity enables him—His humanity qualifies him.

Thus, his sin is fully punished-thus, the elect are fully saved!

 5 Reasons Not to Take Your Kids to the Carnival Ball

Today you take your children, tomorrow they will go alone

Every now and then someone asks me: “Pastor, what's wrong with taking my children to a children's carnival dance? Do you see any mistake in that? My wish is for them to have a little fun, nothing more. By the way, what is your opinion on the matter?

Now, I know very well that parents' motivation in taking their children to a children's carnival dance is the best possible. However, I see that, in doing so, parents commit a very serious error.

Below are five reasons why I believe parents should not take their children to a carnival dance:

Carnival is a profane party that promotes concepts and values that are absolutely antagonistic to the Word of God;

Carnival is a promiscuous and immoral party, where adultery, immorality and sexual irresponsibility are exalted;

Carnival is a mundane party where love is relativized, life is “objectified” and relationships are discarded;

Carnival is the feast of the flesh, where fallen and apostate human nature feeds on all kinds of sin and iniquity;

The carnival, its content, its values and sinfulness affront the holiness of God, not glorifying the name of Christ in any way.

As you read these reasons, you may be saying to yourself, “Ah! How silly! I disagree with that. Especially because I intend to take my children to a children's dance and not to an adult dance.”

Well, to these I reply by saying:

Today you take your children, tomorrow they will go alone. And it won't do any good to tell them that Carnival is promiscuous, immoral and perverse, because they will respond by saying: “Wow! If that's all, why as kids did you take us to children's dances?"

Therefore, before taking your children to the “feast of the flesh”, think carefully and consider whether, with this attitude, you will be glorifying God, as well as contributing to the edification of those the Lord has entrusted to you.

 SAY NO TO CARNIVAL!

CARNIVAL has been constituted in the direct denial of Christian values of behavior, as if it were possible to take a vacation to morality, sobriety and decency. “Blessed are those servants whom the Lord

when he comes, find them watchful ′′ (S. Luke 12:37), declared the Master. And more

further: “Take heed to yourselves, lest it happen to you that your

hearts are weighed down with the consequences of debauchery, drunkenness, and

from the cares of this world” (Luke 21:34). The present time demands austerity,

sobriety. Not that square sobriety, so characteristic of closed figures

in “ivory towers”, but the necessary sobriety to face the clashes

end of the history of this planet (Júlio César Prado).

  Now the works of the flesh are manifest: sexual immorality, impurity, and licentiousness; idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before: Those who practice these things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19-21

 Some people say we have nothing to do

  with the choices of the other. Therefore, we should not meddle in other people's lives, however,

  the Bible says:

Luke 17:3

Look out for yourselves. And if your brother sins against you, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.

1 Thessalonians 5:14

We also implore you, brethren, to admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, uphold the weak, and be patient with all .

And it can also edify the lives of brothers and sisters:

Colossians 3

1 Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.

2 Set your minds on things above, not on things on earth;

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry;

6 For which things the wrath of God cometh upon the children of disobedience;

7 In which you also once walked, when you lived in them.

8 But now also, put away all things: anger, anger, malice, slander, filthy words out of your mouth.

9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,

10 And ye have put on the new, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him;

11 Where there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, bond or free; but Christ is all, and in all.

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13 Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; as Christ forgave you, so do you also.

14 And above all this, clothe yourselves with love, which is the bond of perfection.

15 And the peace of God, to which you were also called in one body, rule in your hearts; and be grateful.

  16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing to the Lord with grace in your hearts.

17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

18 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be angry with them.

20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord.

21 Fathers, do not exasperate your children, lest they lose heart.

22 Servants, obey your masters in all things according to the flesh, not serving in appearance, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.

23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,

24 Knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, because you serve Christ the Lord.

25 But whoever does wrong will receive the wrong he has done; for there is no respect of persons.

 6 REASONS WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD HATE CARNIVAL

1. It is spiritually damaging. Carnival is a feast of carnality. Sensuality is extolled in the streets and sexual immorality is practiced in the salons. The Christian is the one who has crucified carnality with its passions and desires (Gl 5.24), flees from sexual sins (2 Tm 2.22) and, clothed in Christ, no longer feeds his flesh (Rm 13.13,14). In this sense, there is nothing more harmful to sanctification than Carnival.

2. It is culturally poor. The musical culture in Brazil has not been going well for a long time, however, during Carnival it gets worse. The marchinhas with a double meaning, with a sexual connotation, are proof of that. Carnavalescos even try to put a bit of Brazilian history in the lyrics of the songs, to give an impression of high culture, but the result is pathetic: excerpts from our history accompanied by drums and naked women.

3. It is patriotically disastrous. Unfortunately, around the world, Brazil is known as the country of football and Carnival. Scenes of naked women dancing on floats travel the world, reinforcing the image of easy sex and prostitution in our country. There are many instances of women being treated as prostitutes when, abroad, they identify themselves as Brazilian. The blame for this confusion comes, to a large extent, from Carnival.

4. It is politically indecent. Since antiquity, governments have entertained the people with bread and circuses. In this sense, the Brazilian government counts on the help of football and Carnival. In recent times, the situation is even worse because of the crisis that has settled in our nation. As the song said: Life of cattle, marked people, happy people...

5. It is economically unfair. The millions of reais invested by the government in this party could be used in housing, hospitals and schools. The ambulances and police that are deployed to the parades could be available to the population. In a country that still cares for patients on stretchers in hospital corridors, Carnival should definitely be the last option for the government to invest taxpayer money.

6. It is socially harmful. Carnival does not bring any good to society. On the contrary, the amount of young people taking drugs and drinking alcohol is gigantic. Diseases such as flu, herpes, conjunctivitis, hepatitis and AIDS multiply during this period and promiscuity generates thousands of unwanted pregnancies and abortions. The number of car accidents increases.

For all this, it is inconceivable that a Christian, committed to Jesus Christ, could have any admiration for Carnival. If by chance you feel tempted by this feast, remember that "God did not call us for filthiness, but for sanctification" (1 Thess 4.7) and that whoever loves the things of this world makes himself an enemy of God ( Tg 4.4). May God sanctify you.
