² You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men.
³ For it is already manifest that you are the letter of Christ, ministered by us, and written, not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tables of flesh of the heart.
⁴ And it is through Christ that we have such confidence in God;
⁵ Not that we are capable, on our own, of thinking anything, as of ourselves; but our ability comes from God,
⁶ Which also made us capable of being ministers of a new testament, not of the letter, but of the spirit; because the letter kills and the spirit vivifies.
⁷ And if the ministry of death, written in letters on stones, came in glory, so that the children of Israel could not look at the face of Moses, because of the glory of his face, which was temporary,
⁸ How will the ministry of the Spirit not be of greater glory?
⁹ For if the ministry of condemnation was glorious, the ministry of righteousness will far exceed in glory.
¹⁰ For also he that was glorified in this part was not glorified, because of this excellent glory.
¹¹ For if what was transitory went to glory, much more is what remains in glory.
¹² Therefore, having such hope, we use great boldness in speaking.
¹³ And we are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face, so that the children of Israel would not look steadfastly at the end of what was transitory.
¹⁴ But his senses were hardened; because to this day the same veil remains to be lifted in the lesson of the old testament, which was abolished by Christ;
¹⁵ And to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is placed over their hearts.
¹⁶ But when they turn to the Lord, then the veil will be removed.
¹⁷ Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
