WHO HAS THIRST? COME...

 

In life we can seek many things, we can struggle to achieve many goals, but nothing satisfies us like when we seek God's will.

All those who hunger for God and his righteousness will be satisfied. The Lord is pleased with people who seek Him and have a genuine desire to know Him better.

One thing I asked the Lord

and look for:

that I may live in the house of the Lord

every days of my life,

to behold the goodness of the Lord

and seek guidance from him in his temple.

Psalm 27:4

About you my heart says:

Seek my face!

Your face, Lord, I will seek.

Psalm 27:8

because he quenches the thirsty

and fully satisfies the hungry.

Psalm 107:9

As the deer longs for running waters,

my soul yearns for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.

When can I enter

to present myself to God?

Psalms 42:1-2

Rest in God alone,

O my soul;

from him comes my hope. He alone is the rock that saves me;

he is my high tower! I will not be shaken! My salvation and my honor

on God they depend;

he is my firm rock, my refuge. Trust him at all times, O people;

pour out your heart before him,

for he is our refuge.

Psalms 62:5-8

O God, you are my God,

I seek you intensely;

my soul thirsts for you!

My whole being yearns for you,

in a dry, weary and waterless land. I want to contemplate you in the sanctuary

and see your power and your glory. Your love is better than life!

Therefore my lips will exalt you. As long as I live I will bless you,

and in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied

as when he has a rich feast;

with joyful lips my mouth will praise you. When I lie down, I remember you;

I think of you during the watches of the night. Because you are my help,

I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. My soul clings to you;

your right hand sustains me.

Psalm 63:1-8

How pleasant is your dwelling place,

Lord of the Army! My soul yearns, and even faints,

through the courts of the Lord;

my heart and my body

sing for joy to the living God. Even the sparrow found a home

and the swallow a nest for herself,

to shelter their young,

a place near your altar,

O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. How happy are

those who dwell in your house;

praise you without ceasing!

Psalms 84:1-4

Better is a day in your courts

than a thousand elsewhere;

I prefer to stay at the door of the house of my God

to dwell in the tents of the wicked.

of your ordinances.

like a parched land, I thirst for you.

Jesus replied, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God'".

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they will be satisfied.

Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went to a deserted place, where he prayed.

But what was gain to me I now consider loss for Christ's sake. More than that, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I count them as dung, that I might gain Christ and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God and rests on faith. I want to know Christ, the power of his resurrection and the participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death in order to somehow achieve resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this or have been perfected, but I press on to achieve it, for to this end I was also reached by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not think that I myself have already achieved it, but one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I press on towards the goal, in order to win the prize of the heavenly calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:7-14
