WHAT IS YOUR FURNACE?
THERE ARE MOMENTS IN LIFE, WHICH WE FIND LIKE SADRAQUE, MESAQUE AND ABEDENEGO AND WE NEED TO TAKE A POSITIONING. NO MORE TO RELEASE, PROTECT, SIDE. YOU NEED TO MAKE A DECISION THAT WILL REPERCER TO YOUR FUTURE IN THIS LIFE OR EVEN ETERNAL. YOUR VALUES WILL BE CONFRONTED, YOUR FAITH PROVEN, YOUR CHARACTER TESTED AND WHAT WILL YOU DECIDE?
DANIEL 3: 1-30
The statue of gold: the companions of Daniel in the furnace of burning fire
And the king Nebuchadnezzar made a golden image, whose height was sixty cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits; and set it up in the field of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent together the princes, the prefects, the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the judges, the captains, and all the officers of the provinces, to come to the consecration of the statue that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
And the princes, and the governors, and the captains, and the judges, and the treasurers, and the counselors, and all the officers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the consecration of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
And the herald proclaimed with a loud voice: It is commanded to you, O peoples, nations and tongues:
When you hear the sound of the horn, the flute, the harp, the sambuca, the psaltery, the bagpipe, and all kinds of music, you will bow down and worship the golden statue that King Nebuchadnezzar lifted up.
And whosoever will not bow down and worship not, it shall be cast into the midst of the furnace of burning fire.
And when all the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the harp, and the sambuca, and the psaltery, and all manner of music, all peoples and nations and tongues fell down, and worshiped a golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
And immediately certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.
And they answered and said to Nebuchadnezzar the king, O king, live forever!
Thou, O king, hast made a decree, whereby every man that heard the sound of the trumpet, and the harp, and the sambuca, and the psaltery, and the bagpipe, and all manner of music, worshiped the golden statue;
And whosoever would not bow down and worship, he would be cast into the furnace of burning fire.
There are Jewish men whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not heeded thee; for thy gods do not serve, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Then Nebuchadnezzar in anger and wrath sent for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. And they brought these men before the king.
And Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said unto them, Is it my purpose, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that ye serve not my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
Now therefore, if ye be ready, when ye shall hear the sound of the horn, and the harp, and the sambuca, and the psaltery, and the bagpipe, and all manner of music, that ye may worship and worship the image which I have made , good it is; but if you do not worship her, you shall be cast into the furnace of burning fire at the same time. And who is the God who can deliver you out of my hands?
And Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to Nebuchadnezzar the king, We have no need to answer thee concerning this matter.
Behold, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us; he will deliver us from the fiery furnace of fire, and from thy hand, O king.
And if not, let the king know that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with fury, and the appearance of his countenance was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. he said, and commanded the furnace to warm seven times more than it used to.
And he commanded the mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, to cast them into the furnace of burning fire.
And these men were bound, clothed with their cloaks, their coats, and their hats, and other garments, and were cast into the midst of the fiery furnace.
And because the king's word was urgent, and the furnace was exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire slew the men that carried Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell bound into the furnace of burning fire.
Then the king Nebuchadnezzar was amazed, and rose up quickly; said to his counselors, Did not we cast three men bound in the fire? And they answered and said unto the king, It is true, O king.
And he answered and said, I see four men loose, walking in the fire, without suffering any harm; and the appearance of the fourth is like unto the Son of God.
And Nebuchadnezzar came to the gate of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, saying, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, go forth and come. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the midst of the fire.
And the princes, and the captains, and the rulers, and the king's counselors, and seeing these men, saw that the fire had no power over their bodies; not a single hair of his head had burned, nor their cloaks changed, nor the smell of fire had passed over them.
And Nebuchadnezzar spake, saying, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who sent his angel, and delivered his servants, who trusted in him: for they violated the king's word, and preferred to give up their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship another god, but his God.
By me therefore a decree is made, whereby all the people, and a nation, and a tongue that speaketh blasphemy against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill; because there is no other God (YHWH) who can deliver like this.
Then the king made Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego prosper in the province of Babylon.
